The Last Drink

Synopsis

Late at night in the bar on Christmas Eve, having no job Jack, the last customer, is drunk and wants one last drink. After scolding Marlene, Officer Randell takes Jack home. As Marlene is closing up, a mysterious man (Harry Hayes) enters the bar. The man asks for a drink which Marlene initially refuses but as he pulls out a gun, Marlene fixes him his drink. Harry reveals that he worked the same place as Jack and like Jack, he has been fired. Also, Harry reveals that he has stolen from a Christmas charity. However, he has been badly wounded during the escape and is going to die which is why Harry decides to leave the money in the bar for Marlene. During the encounter between Marlene and Harry, Office Randell enters the bar looking for Jack's key. Officer Randell is suspicious of Harry but leaves once he is handed the keys. Marlene starts talking to Harry but turns to see he has died. The next day, Jack comes to the bar to get drunk but Marlene gives him the bag of money instead.
