Outline

A documentary film about a hitchhiking trip around Denmark, gathering love stories and love advice from Danish locals.

Synopsis

Amanda has experienced that love can be both wonderful and extremely challenging. She therefore wants to gather love advice and love stories from the Danish people, to get a new perspective on what love really is, and how to handle it. By hitchhiking from Ebeltoft to Skagen in Denmark, she creates a magical and trustworthy relationship with strangers. This sets the foundation of an honest conversation about the complicated themes such as distance relationships, becoming a widow, the love for strangers, young vs. old love, love for your grandchildren, and leaving Amanda with love- and life advice we can all need. Our main question will be “What is your best love advice?” From here we will further try to receive love- and life stories of the drivers. There is something magical happening when two strangers sit next to each other in a car. In this film, Danish locals are given a chance to share their best love advice and perspectives to a young, open Norwegian girl. One host, and one photographer, go on a 5-days long hitchhiking trip, starting in Ebeltoft and ending in Copenhagen. Hitchhiking is, for many these days, an unthinkable way of travelling. By trusting people you do not know at all, a bond is created the second you enter the car. The magical and trustworthy relationship between strangers, sets the foundation of an honest conversation.
