Synopsis
Wendy suffers from Alzheimer’s. She’s losing memories of the people she loves and sometimes can’t even remember who she is. While playing the piano, she goes into a place in her mind where she’s young again. She sees Ben, the boy she loved a long time ago and tries to say goodbye to him. She relives her last moments with him as she tries to let go of the memory. They dance together, laugh together, play chess and piano. Wendy isn’t ready to say goodbye and Ben isn’t ready to accept that she’s leaving. During the movie it is unclear which part is an actual memory and which part Wendy is imagining because she can’t quite pinpoint what really happened during their last day together. The story is told as a visual poem, a love letter to being young and in love. It’s about those loves you think will last a life time and learning how to say goodbye.
